Words cannot describe how much fun this shoot was.
Credit goes to Sarah and Zoe for this shoot...who came to me months ago expressing their excitment over this concept....and who never let up on the idea.
The shoot itself was slow and easy-just the way I like it...but the before and after was anything but. We sat outside In Sarah's yard late at night. It had just rained and so there was that distinct wet grass, wet world smell; and miles away there was a breathtaking lightning storm that illuminated everything in huge, sporadic, seconds-apart flashes. Right above our heads though was a patch of brave stars that dared to shine, and as I sat in one of her patio chairs (which happened to be slightly wet) I gazed at everything that was happening around me-the lightning, the stars, the silence of night interrupted by my debatably insane friend Zoe who hollered and danced next to the black light, and sarah who professionally flicked paint all over herself. It was all seemed surreal...but so is the life of a teenager.
I had a few silly dots of paint on my face, and so after the shoot the three of us took ridiculous pictures together. We laughed at everything- our faces, our appearance, Zoe's inability to sit still for the picture, the horrid music that was playing on the radio, and perhaps we even laughed just for the sake of laughing.
Anyways, it was a wonderful night...sarah hates this picture (but she almost always does)
