Gateway to the Undiscovered Land

There were cliff rocks and islands and coves dotting the shore, and seagulls flew in glorious white flocks and the waves crashed against the large, slippery rocks. We began walking and I couldn't stop gasping at the stretching sea and the land and the snaking strands of sandy beaches in the middle of the water, and there were moss covered boulders and a small patch of faint blue sky right above our heads that seemed to save us from the looming grey clouds that stretched all around us. We wandered across long beaches and up sandy hills, and eventually we stumbled across a steep and rocky cliff. We climbed down by jumping to different stones and grabbing branches and slipping on wet dirt, and eventually we reached an odd hole in the face of the cliff. The lush green on the other side contrasted sharply with the sterile grey rock, and it seemed to almost glow with mystery. It was magical in its own little way, and served as a sort of portal to a new wonderland.
