To Be Amongst Butterflies

Once upon a time there was a girl who ran away from home. There was no real reason to her spontaneity, she just knew she didn't fit in.
She dashed through the forest, a forest with tree trunks as wide as a house, with canopy leaves that cloaked the earth in calm, welcoming shadow. She ran and she ran, as the wind whipped her dress, never stopping until her small lungs ran out of air.
She stopped and she stared in wonder at the small clearing she had found herself in. Flowers pink and yellow, and bright aqua blue. Wind softly blowing, creating the soft cracking of twigs...butterflies fluttering as they danced in the sky, somewhere off in the distance a small mockingbird chirping its song.
Out of exhaustion she fell to the grass, and closed her eyes to sleep. She could feel the individual blades of grass between her fingers, the thick air that smothered her skin. In fact, she lay there for such a long while, that she began to become the earth. She became a garden uncared for, fallen victim to life. Her soul began to crack and cave in, and slowly, the butterflies made her their home.
